Are you interested in deepening relationships to help make a meaningful impact for freedom and justice nationwide? Join IJ as our new Donor Communications and Outreach Coordinator! In this position, you will work directly with the Director of Donor Communications to help produce some of IJ’s most far-reaching content, from the Liberty & Law magazine (publishing 30,000+ copies) to the Beyond the Brief podcast (with hundreds of thousands of subscribers). You will also be instrumental in securing face-to-face interactions with some of IJ’s most valuable supporters—and contribute to a wide range of communications and outreach products designed to expand donors’ knowledge of and commitment to IJ’s mission.
 
A successful person in this position will be proactive, collaborative, organized, and enthusiastic about connecting current and prospective supporters with IJ’s mission.

Responsibilities: 
  • Assist in scheduling and production of recurring donor publications, Liberty & Law and Pillars of Justice, as well as coordination of Beyond the Brief podcast.
  • Proactively drive donor-related travel for directors and attorneys by developing the strategy for which donors to ask for visits and the best way to ask; drafting letters and emails; following up on requests for meetings; and ensuring appropriate and timely follow up.
  • Administer other donor outreach projects and one-off items (mailings, emails, development events and donor component of institutional events, donation acknowledgement calls, etc.). 
  • Stay informed on general IJ cases/issues and look for opportunities to share news from IJ, either in mass or individualized communications with donors.
  • Assist in preparing materials and content for various internal and external communications. 
  • Help coordinate and execute a variety of other development projects as needed.

Required Skills:
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Able to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
  • Able to balance multiple projects and meet deadlines 
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM program preferred 
  • Project management experience is a plus
