Are you interested in deepening relationships to help make a meaningful impact for freedom and justice nationwide? Join IJ as a Donor Communications Manager! In this position, you will work directly with the Director of Donor Communications to ensure consistency, cohesiveness, and smooth operation of IJ’s donor-facing materials. You’ll collaborate with a diverse team of development, media, production, and litigation staff to create engaging communications and evaluate the success of our communications efforts to grow the base of support for IJ. 

A successful person in this position will be an effective communicator who is collaborative, organized, and enthusiastic about continually improving IJ’s ability to connect supporters with our mission.  

Responsibilities: 

  • Help oversee donor communications content, including drafting written materials as needed 
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure that each giving program has a communications strategy to encourage new donors, increased giving from current donors, and renewal of lapsed donors 
  • Work with team members at the beginning of the project refine ideas; clarify audience and goals; determine timing, distribution, and measurement; and ensure communications are complementary and consistent 
  • Serve as project lead to execute projects that span multiple donor segments / clubs 
  • Formalize an intake, review, measurement, and debrief process for donor communications projects; coordinate discussions to assess project outcomes against objectives, identify lessons learned, and document best practices 
  • Prepare annual budget for donor communications activities; stay within approved budget limits 

Required Skills: 

  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing 
  • Able to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism 
  • Able to balance multiple projects and meet deadlines  
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM program preferred  
  • Project management experience is a plus
